Project Moonbeam on MySpace:
http://www.myspace.com/projectmoonbeam
More info, quoted from the PM MySpace:
"Project Moonbeam came about as a collection of pieces I composed while working to get my professional recording studio understood and operational. In the end, this activity turned out to be an excellent three-year learning experience during which I got to work with some very talented musicians - these recordings are the result. Many thanks go out to Cyndee Lee Rule (my primary collaborator on this project) for helping me realize this material was ready to be put together and released – without her efforts in this area Project Moonbeam likely would have remained in the studio archives.
"Now that the album is full produced, mastered, and ready to go, I am currently seeking a label to do the pressing and distribution - interested labels please send an email to this account!
"In the event a label is not brought on-board, this music will be self-released. I will most likely attempt to sell select Project Moonbeam MP3s from this site to raise money for the pressing - your support will be greatly appreciated!"

December 26, 2007
"So on Saturday my wife and I went the Gathering concert series to see
RMI (and Cyndee Lee). Short review: amazing
"Slightly longer review: Last year we saw Air Sculpture at the same
church. When we walked in I was blown away by the huge moog they had.
Well this year when we walked in there were two (yes two!!!) `trons.
The significance of this was lost on wife, believe me I have tried to
get her to understand the import stuff, I really have.
"The show was way more crowded then the show I went to last year. Must
have been at least 200 people there. Well OK 180 middle age white
guys, and the rest woman and children and others. Saw Ken Golden and
chat for a while. Saw Cyndee and didn't go over to talked to her. Not
sure what to say after hey and great first cd. Picked up a couple of
cds (but of course)
"Once the show started it was simply amazing, opening with those
heavenly `trons, about 10 or 15 minutes in the sequencers started and
I was in a state of bliss. The first set last about 45 minutes with
the usual assortment of fast and slow pieces. After a short break so
Cyndee could get ready second set started with Ms. Rule adding in
many heavenly solos on top of the bed of sequencers that were being
laid down.
"RMI really is one of the best of the EM bands around today. Cyndee's
parts made magical evening even more so. The only downside beside it
not being long enough was the mix from were we were sitting was bit
office, it was hard to hear the guitar or Cyndee at time, those big
fat sequencers just overwhelmed at times (not really a bad thing at
all!!)

RADIO MASSACRE INTERNATIONAL - 11/15/07
The big, regular season programming show was planned a few months in advance. It was a big undertaking and the first of its kind at the college. The plan was to have a live show at the College as part of the new Gagliarchives Concert Series. It was very special. Radio Massacre International was to perform live. It was a magical night that reinforced the strength and power of the ‘live’ show. RMI was incredible and hypnotic. Their set was almost 2 hours and the limited audience loved every minute of it. We had the band in the studio for an interview as well. They played shows in Philadelphia, on Star's End, and in Baltimore with rave reviews. Violinist Cyndee Lee Rule of Scattered Planets joined them as well. Radio Massacre International did not have a drum kit for this show, but it was still just as great as anything I have ever heard from them. I have invited them again to play down the road which they happily obliged. Carol Rogalski, Jack and Ryan Webster, and Brett Holcomb along with the A/V department at BCC were a big help as well. All of our staff were a big help that ultimately pulled off the show that was easier than expected.

Radio Massacre International is a British trio of Steve Dinsdale (keyboards, electronics, drums), Duncan Goddard (keyboards, electronics, bass) and Gary Houghton (guitar, synthesizers). These three musicians have worked together in various configurations since they were 16 year old students in the 70's and formed R.M.I. in 1993. Their second Cuneiform release (and the band's 27th overall) is something quite different from the band's previous work. Best known for electronic space music for keyboards, electronics and guitars, here Radio Massacre have expanded greatly upon their usual sound and also use conventional rock instrumentation, adding bass and drums, to create a sincere and moving tribute to Syd Barrett, and in doing so, manage to capture some of the psychedelic magic of 1967-1968. This album features a really striking cover by Daevid Allen, which is also a hommage to Syd.
"This album is our way of saying goodbye and thanks to a genuine one-off. His passing had an unexpectedly profound effect, despite the fact that he hadn't been near a guitar in more than 30 years. It forced us to consider what an enormous influence he was, despite his space-ageascendancy and equally rapid burnout. He picked up a zippo lighter, invented glissando guitar and incorporated non-musical sounds into the context of the new psychedelic movement that had hardly had time to leave the conformity of Rhythm & Blues behind. His creation was a particularly English take on what we now call 'rock'...and for those of us engaged in experimental or space rock, the debt is enormous."-Radio Massacre International

From the RMI site:
RAIN FALLS IN GREY by RADIO MASSACRE INTERNATIONAL released 19/9/07 on Cuneiform Records of America.
Pre-release copies will be available at the Leicester concert.
Details (As spoken to Joyce @ Cuneiform)
Is Rain Falls In Grey different from our other CD's ?
Very much so. They're all different otherwise it wouldn't be worth making them, some are more different than others, and this is the album we wanted to make this time. It's quite a departure from the sequencer/electronics of `Emissaries' but if you listen closely, it's the same people at the core.
We have over the last three years enjoyed several rewarding collaborations with other artists, having operated pretty much in a three-sided bubble before that. We have shared a stage with Damo Suzuki on several notable occasions, which introduced us to some valued collaborators besides Damo himself. Martin Archer was one such artist, who we found ourselves onstage with in Sheffield and immediately asked him to contribute some hot wind to the album. We've been after a reeds player for years, but you never know when one's going to turn up.
In late 2006 we very much felt the glorious spirit of the Gong Unconvention in Amsterdam and as our album was taking shape we decided to ask Daevid Allen to create some unique artwork for the project. We knew that he had seen his personal future of glissando guitar playing because of Syd, and so we felt that this tied in beautifully with our wish to acknowldege Syd's pioneering spirit in the realms of space rock through some of the pieces on this album. Whilst at the Gong Uncon we alsomet with American violinist Cyndee Lee Rule, who expressed an interest in contributing after she heard us on a CD of ours (Septentrional) she bought in aid of the Tim Blake legal fund. The violin being an important element in much space rock, we had to say yes and we were truly viperized by her contributions. The album is in many places like a greatly expanded RMI line-up (with us all doubling on keyboards too) and we were very excited by it as it came together. Being a guitar/bass/drums trio as well as sequencer and electronics wizards, ( I love that expression) it was only a matter of time before our dark side was fully let off the leash in the `full on' opus which opens the album.
On a philosphical level the pieces can be seen as a celebration of the eternal life and energy that pioneers such as Syd Barrett give through their music for us all to share , and the sadness when they lose their way like he did. The conclusion of the album is more of a reflection on the dearly departed, whose physical-being is surrendered but whose spirits will always be with us because of what they gave of themselves during their time with us.
Or alternatively, it's a great collection of prime space rock to play loud and enjoy for what it is and not get too hung upon what it all means.
The album title is a quote from the Syd Barrett song 'Baby Lemonade' which we felt summed up the elegiac mood when we first reflected on his passing, although the opening piece is a vibrant celebration of many of our favourite elements of space rock, with homages to Syd's Floyd, Gong, Hawkwind, The Kosmische movement and much else. (I hear Van Der Graaf in the reed playing, there's a cheeky Robert Wyatt quote on drums and hell there might even be a bit of Deep Purple in there somewhere). By contrast, the closing track `Far Away' could be seen to represent a yearning to be with the departed for just a little longer, apparent here in Gary's guitar playing.
The only thing which really matters is how it all works as an entity to be savoured and enjoyed with your drug of choice be it tea, nicotine, red wine, marijuana, acid or just good old fresh air regardless of our past track record and cultural refrence points. We always make a bargain with new music to see it on it's own terms, and we know many of our audience and Cuneiform diehards do too. There will be many fans who wanted us to make the same album as `Emissaries' again, but in presenting something different we'll try and take them where we want to go.
Here’s what the critics said about `Emissaries’ Radio Massacre International’s debut on Cuneiform !
“Frankly there isn’t anyone out there doing this kind of music better” (Space Rock)
“Crikey, RMI don’t do things by halves, do they?” (Sequences)
“A great example of how this genre can transcend time” (Ghostland)
“The soundtrack to an unmade documentary about plankton or dust” (Signal to Noise)
“Evolution is on a large time scale, but things do happen, and they happen for a reason” (Axiom Of Choice)
“This music is no self-indulgent noodling. There are concepts at work here” (Acid Dragon)
“A top pick for 2005, regardless of musical categorizations” (All About Jazz)
“I believe it should carry a warning sticker to the effect that listening to it could potentially be damaging to the pocket, since few bands this side of Acid Mothers Temple have been as prolific” (Terrascope Online)
“Interestingly their record label seems to think that Emissaries will introduce the band to the music world outside of the Electronic Music cognoscenti. So, how better to do that than with an hour long studio CD, a 74 minute live set …and an electronic comic in .pdf format. Yup, that’ll wheel in the James Blunt crowd!” (Space Rock)
“Muito recomendado!” (Rock Progressivo Brasil)

Mark Feldman - "Father Demo Square"
The Evil Twin - "Get It"
Cyndee Lee Rule - "Telekinetigram"
Virus String Quartet - "Azulerias"
###
Mark Feldman is one of my favorite players out there. He has recently
released a disc called No Exit - his first disc of jazz performances
where
he is the bandleader. Jazz aficianados often complain of violin jazz
that
it suffers from baroque excesses. Feldman's disc is a refreshing
departure
in this regard for its sense of restraint, having a profound sense of
space
and an artistry of tone. Violin jazz for people that love jazz.
www.markfeldmanviolin.com
The Evil Twin shows in many ways the opposite of restraint; choosing
instead
to kick your ass with an aggressive sound and killer grooves. Fung
Chern
Hwei on violin and Jeremy Harman on cello.
www.myspace.com/theeviltwinfusion
Out of Philadelphia comes prog rocker Cyndee Lee Rule. Her work brings
the
feel and complexity of space rock into the 21st century. Wild, loud,
intelligent, fun. And dare I say, futuristic.
www.cyndeeleerule.com
And closing out the show is the Virus String Quartet - an electric
string
group out of Barcelona (and one of my favorite string groups). They
combine
jazz, flamenco, and swagger to create a truly original sound. And if
ever
they need a bass player, I'd love to get the job.
###
Like I keep going on about, this is the first show in the new format.

Cyndee's Viper on upcoming Space Mirrors CD!
-
December 28, 2006
From the Space Mirrors website:
New Space Mirrors album is being recorded now and is titled "Majestic-12". This mystical album will guide you through the most enigmatic mysteries of the UFO and alien phenomenon. It will be the musical and lyrical journey through the most crucial mysterious events and UFO conspiracies of the 20th century. Be ready for the trip into the unknown, prepare yourself to face the facts you never heard of before, be ready for the revelations of the most well kept secrets of human civilization!
It will feature legendary saxophonist and performer Nik Turner (Hawkwind co-founder, Space Ritual band, Inner City Unit, Galaktikos, etc.), electric violin virtuoso Cyndee Lee Rule (Spaceseed, Scattered Planets, etc.), fantastic singer Martyr Lucifer from avant-garde extreme metal band Hortus Animae.
Album will consist of 12 tracks. All of the music is recorded. Nik Turner recorded sax, flute and voice for 5 tracks and it sounds superb! Cyndee Lee Rule recorded her Viper violin for 5 tracks also. Martyr Lucifer will enter the studio in January to record vocals for 6 songs. One more singer for a song will be revealed later. Amber and Alisa will do the rest of the vocals on the album.
The core of the band as always is Alisa Coral and Michael Blackman.
The full tracklist and other details will be revealed later. Stay tuned!
